Of all the major threats, the crisis in financial markets is seen as by far and away the most serious at this time. Estimates by City analysts are predicting unemployment as high as 45%! Many believe the government is underestimating this number. But let us remember the last flu pandemic in 1918, when travel was far more restricted, killed a total of 50 million people.
